• Adults and Adolescents!

  • Right Start offers the popular Adults and Adolescents Courses at both our Biggin Hill and Bromley Common venues.

    This 6 week course is ideal for older dogs and adolescents! It’s a great progression on from the one to one Puppy Lifeskills online course or for older dogs and rescue dogs who are just starting out on their training.  It's also ideal for guardians who would benefit from a refresher! It helps to build that all important enriched bond and relationship between you and your dog so that they want to be with you and will really enjoy learning!

    The initial introductory group session will be online via Zoom and this will be followed by 5 face to face group sessions.

    The introductory Zoom session will fully prepare all class members with what to expect from the course and what to bring to the sessions from week to week. We will also be able to careful go through the precautionary COVID19 regulations that are being put in place to ensure the safety of all clients.

  • The course will cover:

    • How dogs learn - get started on the right track from the very beginning!
    • Teaching basic safety cues - Stay, Wait, Leave and Drop
    • Walk on a loose lead to make walks more pleasurable for you and your dog!
    • That all important RECALL (coming back to the owner!)
    • Learning Self Management, patience and dealing with frustration
    • Sharing exercises to avoid guarding issues
    • How to teach "4 paws on the floor" (no jumping up!)
    • Happy handling for grooming and vet visits!
    • How to prevent separation issues
    • Encouraging your dog to make choices that are rewarding to them and us!
    • Understanding body language - how dogs communicate with us and other dogs
    • Dog Law and what all dog owners need to know

  • Details and Cost

    The course is run in two different venues – St Luke’s Church Hall, Bromley Common and St Mark’s Church Hall, Biggin Hill.

    All dogs attending this class must be fully vaccinated or show proof of adequate immunity.

    The course costs £97 for the 6 weekly sessions which last 45mins each. Limited to a maximum of 4 dogs per course and will include: 

    • 1 x 45min Introductory Group session via Zoom 
    • 5 x 45mins face to face group sessions 
    • Welcome Pack and Goodie Bag
    • Full supporting notes and resources emailed to participants at the end of each session
    • Rosette and Certificate on successful completion of the course!

    These courses are not suitable for dogs that are not comfortable around other dogs. Please contact Kaye if you would like to discuss this before booking.
