• ‘Welcome Home’ Puppy Session

  • This session is for after you have collected your puppy! Many people find that after just a few days once the pup is beginning to feel more confident and at home in their new environment, they start to encounter some typical puppy behaviours. These are very common issues and can be dealt with in a kind, fair and effective way using modern reward based methods. Addressing these issues early and quickly will help to get the pup and owners back on track!

  • The session will cover:

    The session will be tailored to your needs but typically includes:

    • What to do and what not to do in those first few days
    • Advice on puppy issues – play biting, house training, jumping up
    • Socialisation and habituation and advice on how to introduce the pup to different situations and 'things' without flooding them
    • The importance of enrichment to promote calm, relaxation and confidence
    • Learning about patience, self control and how to deal with frustration!
    • Appropriate interaction with children in the home (if relevant)
    • Understanding body language and it's importance throughout the pups life
    • How to choose and introduce your pup to suitable older dogs to socialise them safely and appropriately
    • Helping the pup make the right choices calmly!
    • How to help pup enjoy handling and grooming
    • Preventing Separation issues from the 'get go'

    The sessions will last for one hour and will be supported by email handouts and resources for the family to read and consider together.

    COST:

    • £60 ONLINE VIA ZOOM (includes a recording of the Zoom session for you to download and keep)
    • £70 FACE TO FACE AT THE CLIENT'S HOME

    PLEASE NOTE: Face to face sessions outside a 10 mile radius from Biggin Hill are subject to a travel charge of 60p per mile
